Brunch With Thomas Burberry

As part of Burberry’s initiative to diversify its customer’s shopping experience, the brand has expanded its global flagship store on London’s Regent Street to include its first permanent in-store cafe. Called Thomas’s, the dining space is housed within a new split-level building that is also a dedicated store for gifting.

Named after its founder, Thomas Burberry, the bright and airy dining-and-retail space features classic English interior designs with high ceilings that are fitted with classic black lantern chandeliers as well as monochrome marble flooring. Large windows on the second floor admit permanent natural light into the space where customers dine with a view over the streets of London.

“With the new extension to our Regent Street store, we wanted to create a space where our customers can spend time relaxing and enjoying the world of Burberry in a more social environment,” says chief creative and CEO, Christopher Bailey. “By blending our new café Thomas’s with a gifting area we are trying something new that we hope customers in our hometown of London will enjoy.”

The cafe, which is open seven days a week, is Burberry’s first foray into the chic coupling of fashion and food. The flagship previously only had the facility to provide food and drink for particular events, such as store parties and collection previews.

Thomas’s offers an entirely British all-day menu using the finest seasonal produce from small farmers and artisan suppliers from around the UK. Among the dishes are classics such as lobsters and chips, cured salmon with scrambled eggs and Mersea Rocks oysters.

The dedicated area for gifting stocks a seasonally updated collection of gifts created for the store alongside an assortment of products ranging from home furnishings, games, stationery and travel accessories. They include throws, blankets, cushion covers, backgammon set, limited edition notebooks and diaries as well as luggage tags, passport covers and travel sleeves.

Exclusive to the store are accessories such as a line of London Map Print pouches and tote bags as well as special gift-wrapping ribbons featuring designs based on this season’s Prorsum collection.

A special hot leather press corner has also been set up for customers to have their flat leather products monogrammed on-site. The flagship-exclusive service takes approximately one hour to complete and customers can choose browse the store or kick back at the spanking new cafe.

THOMAS'S IS LOCATED WITHIN BURBERRY'S GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE AT 121 REGENT STREET, LONDON.
