Letter from the editor: The Beauty Candy Apothecary
Early in December, we announced that we were partnering with key stores around the island to showcase our collection of Vintage pieces. Our first collaboration was with the multi-label fashion and lifestyle store Manifesto at Capitol Piazza (read about it here).
This time, we are proud to announce our partnership with THE BEAUTY CANDY APOTHECARY.
WHY THE BEAUTY CANDY APOTHECARY?
For those of you who have been reading pagefive diligently, you'll come to know that we have been fans of the store since its opening in 2013 in Cluny Court. This concept store not only specializes in niche beauty products, but it also offers a range of lifestyle ones.
Personally, I can't get enough of the Tata Harper nourishing cleansing oil, the Maison Balzac scented candles in Le Soleil and, for my next purchase, I have been eyeing this silk pyjamas set from Yolke.
This store is also the place where I get my gifts, especially when I've been invited to a dinner or a house party and need to give something to the hostess. Often times, I will head straight to the boutique and I am always sure to find something.
But THE BEAUTY CANDY APOTHECARY is more than just a place to pick up gifts. For me, it's where I go to whenever I need to find something that will perk up my day. I may be the store's most frequent customer to date!
What I love about the store is the range of brands and products available, and these items have been handpicked and tested by the founder of the concept store, Astrie Sunindar-Ratner.
Astrie, who is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York, has impeccable and exquisite taste and this amazing talent at showcasing her finds. The way the store is designed speaks volume on Astrie's aesthetic sense.
As soon as you walk through the door, you find yourself in this very cosy and intimate place that gives you that sense of excitement at the possibilities of discovering something new.
So it is with that in mind that we've decided to collaborate with the store. Both THE BEAUTY CANDY APOTHECARY and THE FIFTH COLLECTION share similar, if not the same, work ethics, appreciation for nice things, and a commitment to our customers and clients.
You see, my dear Collectors, at THE FIFTH COLLECTION we want you to also feel the love, and this comes from the fact that we curate each piece personally, and that, when reaching us via our customer service through the phone or messaging platforms, you are talking to someone from the core team who has seen the product that you are inquiring about. It's very important for us that you, as our valued Collectors, are well taken care of and have your queries answered, without a hint of a doubt.
Needless to say, it's a nice fit, no?
What to expect?
For our collaboration with THE BEAUTY CANDY APOTHECARY, Astrie has personally made a selection of about 15 pieces from our vintage collection. There, you can find pieces from Chanel to Yves Saint Laurent as well as a rare brooch from Christian Lacroix.
Among those pieces are some of Astrie's favourites, which include a Chanel necklace which is a runway piece from the early 2000s and Fendi vintage jewellery trunk.
As for me, I've always loved the vintage red chevron bag from Chanel.
You'd love that most of the pieces are very feminine, and while they might look like they belong to past decades, these pieces are still very relevant in today's context and goes well with modern day styles of dressing.
So, go on and head over to the store to see some of the best vintage pieces in our vast collection. We're sure you'll find something you love.
