Letter of the Editor: Of Vintage Cars and Next Season's Trends
This week, page five is about breakneck speed, bright lights and fierce competition. We mean Milan fashion week, of course, which we hope will be more interesting than what we’ve seen so far in New York and London.
Half way around the world (but not quite as dangerous) the Grand Prix visits our own backyard for a weekend of excitement. We love F1, and for many of the same reasons as we love vintage fashion: the heritage, the personalities and a glimpse into another era when things were more real.
If you agree, we hope you’ll enjoy our vintage auto-racing Pinterest board that we put together to try to capture the feeling. We hope you enjoy and that it gets you in the mood for this year’s race. Fingers crossed that it won’t rain.
This year, Singapore also welcomes one of our personal heroes, Susie Wolff, the first woman to race in Formula One in over two decades. Aside from her exceptional professional achievements, she is also an extremely stylish woman and we cheer her on in hopes of seeing her on the podium some day.
If you are not interested in the F1 festivities and want to take advantage of madness to retreat, we’ve got you covered with an excellent book recommendation to keep you company.
